Stuttering is also called Stammering. It is a speech disorder. In this, there is a problem in communicating the stutter. Basically, there is a problem in pronouncing the stutter. They repeat sounds and words. And they prolong words and syllables. And they also communicate in blocks.

Their behaviour is also very different. Their eyes also have a lot of extra movement, and they blink their eyes a lot. Their lips also tremble.

Stuttering is of 3 types 

Mild-Ratio of stutter in mild is upto 5% 

Repating-In this stutter words and syllables are repeated.

Prolonging-In this stutter words are spoken in long form

Pausing- In this the stutter gets stuck while talking or he takes a lot of pauses while talking. Specially the words and sentences which he has problem in speaking. 

Blocks- In this the stutter talks in blocks. To say his thing he will talk to you in blocks. Or he starts pronouncing unnecessary words.

Example-Starts using "um", "hm".

Moderate- In Moderate the ratio of Stutter is 5% to 10%. In this the stutter has problem in starting words and phrases. In this the stutter adds extra words while talking.

Example- "hmm", "um".

Severe--- In Severe Stuttering the ratio of Stutter is up to 20%. In this the stutter problem repeats the sounds and words too much and prolongs the syllables.

Reasons for Stuttering

Developmental Stuttering- Developmental Stuttering is basically found in the age of 2 to 7 years. Normally in this what normal children do is that they start speaking properly. But those children who have Stuttering Disorder.  They finish their conversation by using gestures, hand pointing or by speaking in one word. They are unable to communicate properly to explain their point. 

Nurogenic Stuttering- In this neurogenic stuttering occurs due to a stroke in the brain or due to some kind of injury in the brain. In this there is a problem in speech due to lack of signal between the brain, muscles and nerves. 

Psychogenic Stuttering- In this there is a problem in thinking due to stuttering. This problem mostly occurs due to women, anxiety and it can also occur due to emotional trauma. 

Environmental Stuttering- Environmental Stuttering can also occur due to our environment.  If someone in our house is stuttering or someone around us is stuttering, then the other person also starts stuttering after seeing it.
