As we all know, crying is a form of communication that children use to express their anger or frustration. When this crying and screaming becomes excessive then it causes overwhelming distress to the child. So, a question comes to mind.
Why do children with autism usually cry? There could be many reasons. However, we are taking a few of them, which are the most important. First would be due to any physical discomfort, due to hunger, it could be any sleep disturbance.

There will be an emoji of every emotion in each card. The child will be aware of those emojis according to their mood. And instead of crying, the child will give the card accordingly.
By this, we can understand how the child is feeling. So when we use this simple technique, the child will express what they are feeling with the help of cards instead of crying. We have to replace that crying behaviour with an alternate appropriate behaviour. We should also provide them with a safe and calming space where they will not feel distressed.
