HEARING LOSS ASSOCIATED WITH TB (Tuberculosis ) MENINGITIS TB meningitis is one of the most common opportunistic CNS ( Central Nervous System ) infection associated with HIV . The duration of symptoms vary from several days to months. It may be Chronic or acute. Headache , malaise, vomiting and nausea is present . TB patient often have to be treated for at least 18-24 months with drugs (Aminoglycoside) . This patients at high risk of developing SNHL . Aminoglycosides affect both the vestibular and Cochlear function of inner ear . Heraing usually gradual and symmetrically bilateral as shown in the figure .
