What happens, if hearing loss remains untreated?

If we don't use hearing aids then we should put pressure on our hearing/auditory nerve for hearing and our hearing gradually decreases. By using hearing aids we can minimise the deterioration of hearing by putting less or no pressure on auditory nerve.
