Factors that affect the development of speech and language
Normal intellectual capacity- It is our ability to understand and learn things. For normal development it is very important that the child memorise the things, objects child see and make relationship between the objects. Ie. The child speaks only what he can think.
Sensory ability- it includes our five senses ie. Hear, see, touch, smell, taste. The development of speech and language depends on our senses ie. Ability to hear and see because we learn speech and language by hearing and seeing.
Motor ability -Motor abilities include walking, gesture, talking, imitation, writing etc. If these motor abilities are affected and the development of speech and language also get affected.
Speech mechanism-it includes respiratory system, resonatory system, phonatory system, and articulatory system. For the development of speech and language we need all these systems in proper functioning condition.
