TONE DECAY TEST-- of all the auditory tests designed for detection of the site of lesion and nature of pathology in the SENSORINEURAL Pathway-the TDT is the most commonly used. This is because the test can be reliably carried out on any Pure tone Audiometer and help us in diagnosing neural lesions like ACOUSTIC NEUROMA. it's mandatory that this test be carried out on every case of SNHL; especially unilateral hearing loss.
